E Komo Mai! Welcome to my blog.

I'm delighted that you dropped in! E Komo Mai: WELCOME! This blog is basically an online visual journal is modeled after a concept I learned of in psychology 101... waaaaaaay back in college. That concept was somewhere in the chapter on The Significance of Dreams, where it mentioned someone's theory on dreaming about a house usually means that the house represents you. So I have used my actual house (Mauna Lea Manor) to structure my blog. In different rooms you will find different aspects of my life; different interests I like to blog about. This is a way to bring a little organization into my life and thoughts for myself... (dreams are in The Bedroom, Family updates are in The Living room, etc.)
This also, I would imagine, make reading this blog more convenient for you as well. If you are a grandparent interested in seeing photos and hearing stories about my boys, but maybe not so interested in my bellydancing obsession: you can just read what goes on in The Playground. But if you are an Art Collector more interested in my latest work and information on collecting, but not especially interested in my personal life: you'd enjoy The Office. Mauna Lea Manor is sort of the foyer to all the other rooms. If you would like to tour my online portfolio, please visit: www.stephaniebolton.com.
I hope you enjoy your time here ;) & continue to stop by!

Traveling Journals

I discovered this interesting site called http://www.1001journals.com/ and they have a really interesting project going on that anyone can participate in. You can either submit your own personal journal or you can sign up to add to traveling journals that are going from one person to the next.

There is also another third way to participate which might be interesting if you were trying to draw people to your business: it is a location journal where people travel to the journal to add to it and it doesn't leave that certain spot. The traveling journals all have interesting themes; some are very specific and others are a little more "anything goes". I signed up to participate in a few that sounded creative and also added one of my own that I will be sending out into the world.

Journal #3356- I am sending mine out with a cd of music and challenging people to create whatever images or poetry, etc. the music inspires... nothing I composed, just a mix cd of some favorite songs that bring interesting mental pictures to mind for me. I am curious to see if the images the music brings to my mind are the same sort of things other people see also when they hear it.

A little experiment on how universal a composer's intentions really are. This should be interesting. If you want to participate in my journal, go to http://www.1001journals.com/ and register... then look for traveling journal #3356 from Holualoa Hawaii. And while you are there check out some of the others- it's really a cool concept!

I love your idea of everyone using the same music to create by. It will be interesting to see the results.
